Egypt has denounced the aborted coup attempt in Sudan. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry voiced Egypt’s support for Sudanese institutions that exert great efforts to back the transitional rule in the Arab country and realize the aspirations of Sudanese people.
The Egyptian government and people are keen to promote the security, stability and development of Sudan, the ministry added.
Earlier on Tuesday, an official source with the Sudanese Cabinet said that authorities arrested those involved in the coup attempt.
According to the Sudanese News Agency, military and security authorities have foiled the coup attempt and now the situation is under control
