Egypt has said it is closely monitoring reports published by some foreign media outlets regarding the recent attack targeting two vessels at Damietta Port, noting that some of the coverage has contained inaccurate and misleading information.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry stressed that investigations are “still underway” to determine all the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those behind it.
Egypt also called on all media outlets, news agencies and foreign correspondents, both inside and outside the country, to verify the accuracy of their reporting and to rely on official sources for information related to Egyptian affairs and the Damietta Port incident.
