CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif asserted the depth of strategic and historic ties between Egypt and France in the different domains especially in the field of pre university education in addition to the keenness of his ministry on the French education in general and French language in particular.

Abdel Latif lauded the graduates of French schools and their success in the job market, adding that the ministry is looking forward to expanding the number of the schools teaching in the BAC system which include 15 schools and the Egyptian private schools that teach its curricula in French which include 35 schools.

The ministry aims at increasing the number of these schools in cooperation with the French side via presenting technical support.

This came during Abdel Latif’s meeting on Wednesday with French Minister of State for Francophonie and International Partnerships Thani Mohamed-Soilihi and French Ambassador in Cairo Éric Chevallier and their accompanying delegation.

The meeting tackled means to boost co-operation projects in the pre-university education especially improving the quality of teaching the French language in Egypt.

Abdel Latif asserted the importance of improving the quality of teaching the French language at schools in addition to benefiting from French expertise in developing the French curricula to contribute to improving teaching methods and guaranteeing education that copes with international standards.

The ministry saves no effort to empower people interested in the French language, he said.

Meanwhile, Mohamed-Soilihi expressed happiness over this meeting that aims at promoting the opportunities of students to benefit from francophone via program that aims at boosting vocational skills and increasing their opportunities in the work market in addition to providing important developmental and educational chances.
