The National Initiative for the Development of Egyptian Industry ‘Ebda’ on Wednesday met with the Businessmen’s Association in Sohag Governorate to identify the obstacles to industrial complexes there.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen co-operation and support the local industry.
The step came within the framework of the continued integration of efforts, to implement the directives of political leadership to increase industrial investments, enhance production rates, and overcome obstacles facing investors and businessmen.
Ebda has participated in the opening of the industrial complex in West Gerga, Sohag, in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, where he witnessed, via a video conference, the inauguration of three factories for the production of plastic and fodders.
Ebda initiative was launched last April upon instructions from President Sisi to support and localise national industries, relying more on local components and reducing imports.
The initiative is aimed to reduce the import gap and generate jobs. Its objectives are to integrate with the Egyptian State’s national goals, its international commitments and efforts to achieve sustainable economic and social growth and provide clean energy solutions.
The initiative also seeks to support the state’s efforts towards innovation in the industrial field, consumption and production in a responsible manner.
