Deputy Director General of the Egyptian Centre for Strategic Studies General Mohamed Ibhrahim el Deweri underlined the Egyptian-Saudi coordination is vital to maintaining regional stability and Arab national security, especially in view of the dangers besetting the Arab region.

In statements to MENA on Wednesday, he said the visit by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Saudi Arabia came at a very important timing in view of problems facing the Arab region as well as the international challenges in view of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

The visit underscored that the Egyptian-Saudi ties are developing at all levels; political, economic and security, he said.

He added that the visit highlighted that Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the main pillars for Arab security and stability.

Therefore, the leaders of both countries are keen on having common visions with regard to confronting all dangers facing the country, including attempts by some terrorist organizations to return to the region, he said.

He added that the two countries enjoy almost identical views with regard to regional issues, especially the Palestinian cause, the Yemeni crisis as well as the conditions in Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Sudan.

They also have common visions with regard the Ethiopia dam issue and the situation in Afghanistan and Iran, he said, adding that the two countries are keen on enhancing joint Arab action for the best interests of Arab countries.
