Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel-Maguid Saqr witnessed yesterday the implementation of the main phase of the tactical command centres project of the Western Military Zone.

The event was attended by Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, alongside the commanders of the main branches and several senior military leaders.

Commander of the Western Military Zone Major General of Staff Hatem Mostafa Zahran affirmed the unwavering commitment of the zone’s personnel to maintaining the highest levels of combat readiness to carry out all missions entrusted to them in defence of the nation’s security and territorial integrity.

The main phase commenced with a presentation of the tactical concept and the decisions made by commanders during the management of the exercise.

General Abdel-Maguid Saqr discussed with a number of commanders and officers participating in the project their methods for executing assigned tasks and how they made decisions in response to rapidly changing operational developments.

He conveyed the appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the personnel of the Western Military Zone.

General Saqr affirmed that the Armed Forces is keen to continue efforts to maintain and upgrade their combat systems, weapons, and equipment, as well as enhance performance to ensure they are fully capable of carrying out all assigned missions with efficiency and professionalism.

He praised the high level of performance demonstrated by the participating units and highlighted the critical role played by the Western Military Zone in securing Egypt’s western strategic front against all threats.

General Saqr also conducted an aerial inspection of several border security posts within the Western Military Zone’s area of responsibility.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa had earlier observed one of the exercise’s phases, which included presentations of reports and decisions made at various command levels. He also introduced a series of surprise tactical scenarios to assess the forces’ ability to make sound decisions in line with the nature of evolving situations.
