The Egyptian Citizens continued, for the seventh consecutive day, converging on public notary offices to fill in endorsement forms for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to run for a new term in office.
Under constitutional amendments, presidential candidates are required to collect at least 25,000 endorsements from 15 governorates across the country or from 20 MPs to be able to run in elections slated for December.
Egyptian notary offices have reported long queues of citizens eager to fill in endorsement forms for President Sisi who is running for his third term in office.
Voting in Egypt’s presidential elections will take place from December 1-3 for Egyptians abroad, while domestic voting will occur from December 10-12. If no run-off is necessary, the winner will be announced on December 18.
