Cairo has topped the list of African cities in the 2027 QS Best Student Cities rankings, securing a place among the world’s top 100 destinations for university students and underscoring its growing appeal as an international education hub.
The QS ranking evaluates cities based on factors such as university quality, employment opportunities, affordability, and student experiences and reviews.
According to QS, Cairo’s attractiveness stems from its prestigious universities, competitive cost of living, rich cultural and historical heritage, vibrant arts scene, and diverse career opportunities for students and graduates.
The Egyptian capital offers a unique blend of education, culture and history, with landmarks such as the Giza Pyramids and the Nile River, alongside cultural institutions including the Egyptian Opera House and a wide range of artistic activities.
The ranking reinforces Cairo’s position as a leading educational and cultural destination in Africa.
