Abdel-Aal said the agreement aims to strengthen bonds of friendship and understanding between Cairo Governorate and the city of Sarajevo in the fields of culture, science, arts, education, health, tourism, sports, environment, and trade, symbolising the strength of relations between the two countries.
Following the signing, Cairo governor held a meeting with the mayor of Sarajevo and his accompanying delegation.

Cairo is considered an open museum, bringing together a mixture of cultures and Islamic, Coptic, Pharaonic, Greek, Roman and Jewish civilisations, Abdel-Aal said.
For her part, Benjamina Karić, Mayor of Sarajevo, expressed her thanks to Egypt for the support it provided to her country in difficult circumstances. She said the agreement is a step on the road to strengthening co-operation between the two capitals.
