Yesterday was a busy news day, topped with Opening of The Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF), a building collapse and other news.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Wednesday a sum of EGP 600 billion was allocated to the national project of developing rural villages within three years under the “Decent Life” initiative.

The project is being implemented in 3 phases with LE200 billion each.

Also, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli opened the 52nd session of the Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) held under the auspices of President Sisi themed “Life in Reading”.

A 60-year-old woman was killed and others were injured when a three-storey building collapsed in El-Dekheila in western Alexandria. Those who injured include at least one child.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry yesterday called upon the international community and the US administration to exert serious pressure on Israel to put an end to settlement and forced displacement activities on occupied Palestinian land.

The South Cairo Court decided yesterday to renew the detention of businessman Hassan Rateb for 15 days pending investigations on accusations of funding former MP Alaa Hassanin in illegal archaeological excavations.

The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) approved the first issuance of companies’ green bonds in Egypt at $100 million by the Commercial International Bank (CIB) in tandem with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Minister of Health Hala Zayed asserted on Wednesday that Egypt produced 300,000 doses of Sinovac-CoronaVac so far, and that the state will by August produce nearly 10 million doses to face the pathogen describing the step as historic.
