The Ministry of Military Production on Thursday marked the conclusion of two training programmes for African professionals in renewable energy and communications.

Some 27 trainees from 15 African countries completed the courses, which were organised in partnership with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development.

At the closing ceremony, held at the ministry’s training sector in El Salam City, Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gomblat congratulated the participants, describing them as “ambassadors for their countries”.

Egypt stands ready to train more African cadres and to co-operate on sustainable development projects that benefit the peoples of the continent.

The event featured films showcasing the ministry’s technological capabilities and the agency’s development activities across Africa.

Assistant Foreign Minister and Secretary-General of the agency, Ambassador Nermeen El Zawahiri, delivered remarks on behalf of Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.

She stressed that investing in people is the foundation of sustainable growth, highlighting the agency’s role in transferring expertise to support the achievement of the UN 2030 Agenda and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

El Zawahiri praised co-operation with the Ministry of Military Production, noting its contribution to national industry and skills development. She also expressed hope for continued collaboration to train more African professionals.

For their part, the trainees commended the organisation and content of the programme, pledging to transfer the knowledge they had gained to their home countries. Certificates were distributed at the end of the ceremony, followed by a group photo session.

The initiative reflects Egypt’s broader strategy to strengthen ties with African nations through capacity-building and knowledge transfer, positioning Cairo as a key partner in the continent’s development journey.
