CAIRO – The cabinet voiced deep concerns about the ongoing developments in Lebanon.
It asserted Egypt’s full solidarity with the Lebanese government and people, pledging to exert all needed efforts to maintain stability, unity of lands and sovereignty of Lebanon.
This came during the cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday under Premier Moustafa Madbouli.
The cabinet cautioned of the gravity of Israel’s unilateral escalation measures that could drag the region into more dangerous repercussions.
The cabinet warned of the breakout of an all-out regional war shuddering the region’s stability.
It urged the international community and effective powers to seek immediate ceasefire, stem bloodshed and maintain regional security.
The cabinet asserted Egypt’s condemnation of the dangerous Israeli escalation in southern Lebanon, rejecting any attempt impose a fait accompli affecting Lebanese sovereignty.
