The Egyptian cabinet approved during its weekly meeting on Wednesday allowing the Transport Ministry to proceed with contract measures for implementing an integrated green hydrogen production, its derivatives and green ammonia.
The Alexandria Port Authority will sign contracts with the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) and
DEME Group NV, a Belgium-based company that provides engineering services.
This falls with in the framework of the state’s efforts to localize the industry of green hydrogen, its derivatives and green ammonia.
This promotes Egypt’s position as a regional and international source of green energy and fuel.
The project will be implemented Gargoub Port at dlrs 3.1 billion investment in the first stage.
The cabinet agreed to include martyrs and injured officers, other ranks, and civilian workers in the Armed Forces during previous wars (from the 1948 war until the October 1973 war) to the fund honoring martyrs, victims, missing people, and those injured in military and security operations and their families, in implementation of the directives of the President in this regard within the framework of appreciating their sacrifices for the sake of the nation.
The cabinet also approved requests by a number of public authorities with regard to striking contracts.
The cabinet also approved a presidential decree on a grant financing deal with the European Union on Decent Life, especially with regard to combating poverty in rural areas.
