CAIRO – Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Egypt Sabit Subašić has underscored the importance of the recent visit by chairman of the Presidency Denis Bećirović to Cairo, the first in 14 years.
It was a successful and fruitful visit that would help boost cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism, culture and education, Subašić said in statements to MENA Wednesday.
He added that the talks Bećirović had with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi took up issues of mutual concern, especially Egypt’s pivotal role in restoring peace to the region.
The two sides agreed on the importance of reaching a ceasefire in Gaza and insisted that the two-state solution is the only way out the current crisis, the diplomat said.
During his Cairo visit, Bećirović also met with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Subašić said, adding that the two countries are currently preparing to sign some bilateral agreements, including one between their foreign ministries and another in the tourism domain.
