Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi affirmed that Egyptian petroleum sector companies continue to demonstrate their expertise in delivering strategic energy projects abroad, praising their commitment to the highest standards of quality, safety and timely execution.
His remarks came during a field visit to Jordan to inspect progress on a strategic project to develop and strengthen the country’s natural gas transportation infrastructure, which is being implemented by Egyptian petroleum sector companies.
He described the project teams as a source of pride and true ambassadors for the Egyptian petroleum sector.
The project involves the construction of a gas compressor station at Al-Khanasri in northern Jordan for the Jordanian-Egyptian company Fajr.
It is being executed by a consortium comprising Petrojet and Enppi.During the tour, the Minister reviewed progress on the project, with implementation exceeding 96 per cent.
He commended the work carried out by the teams from Fajr, Petrojet and Enppi, highlighting their contribution to delivering vital projects in Jordan’s energy sector in accordance with the highest international standards of safety and operational excellence while meeting the approved timetable.
The project is expected to strengthen the role of the Arab Gas Pipeline as a strategic energy corridor supporting energy security in both Egypt and Jordan, while enhancing the flexibility and reliability of natural gas supplies.
It also reflects the growing co-operation and integration between the two countries in the energy sector and reinforces the role of Egyptian companies in implementing major regional infrastructure projects.
