The Egyptian Armed Forces have announced the opening of applications for a new intake of university graduates to join the Egyptian Military Academy in the specialised fields of Equestrian Sports and Physical Education, as part of the October 2026 admissions cycle for the academy and military colleges.

The announcement was made during a press conference attended by General Ashraf Salem Zahir, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Dr Diaa Rashwan, Minister of State for Information, alongside senior military commanders and public figures.

Equestrian Specialisation (Male and Female)

Applications are open to graduates of non-technical university faculties only, excluding graduates of faculties such as Medicine, Pharmacy and Engineering.

Applicants must have obtained a minimum grade of “Good”, be no older than 30 years of age on 1 November 2026, and hold a university degree obtained in 2026 or earlier, provided they meet the age requirement.

Preference will be given to applicants registered with the Egyptian Equestrian Federation and those who have achieved competitive results or completed specialised training courses.

Successful candidates must commit to full-time military service and will not be permitted to undertake any private equestrian-related work during their service.

The programme lasts one academic year, after which graduates are commissioned with the rank of Lieutenant and awarded a Certificate of Completion of Military Studies.

Physical Education Specialisation (Female Only)

Applications are open exclusively to female graduates of Faculties of Physical Education.

Applicants must have obtained a minimum grade of “Good”, be no older than 24 years of age on 1 November 2026, and have graduated in 2025 or 2026.

The programme lasts one academic year, and graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion of Military Studies.

The Armed Forces noted that candidates accepted into the equestrian specialisation will not be commissioned on the basis of their university degree, with selection based instead on their professional qualifications and training to ensure the highest standards of performance in these specialised fields.
