The Armed Forces, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, held a graduation ceremony at the Information Technology Institute (ITI) for a cohort of military conscripts who completed a professional training programme.
The initiative is part of efforts, in line with directives from political leaders, to strengthen young people’s digital capabilities, develop specialised skills for a competitive job market and accelerate Egypt’s digital transformation.
The ceremony opened with a presentation outlining the training activities designed to prepare skilled personnel for the demands of digitalisation and artificial intelligence.
In her address, Dr Heba Saleh, President of the ITI, highlighted the programme’s important role in developing human talent capable of navigating advanced technological ecosystems.
She said upcoming phases would introduce advanced courses in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, helping to foster a new generation capable of serving the country to modern standards.
Major General Waleed Adly, Director of the Information Systems Department, conveyed greetings from Field Marshal Ashraf Salem Zaher, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, as well as Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
He stressed that the military leadership regards human development as Egypt’s true wealth, noting that investment in people delivers the most sustainable impact on the country’s future.
Engineer Raafat Hendi, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their careers.
He described investment in young people as a key pillar of national digital sovereignty, saying it enables the state to manage digital assets, protect data, adopt appropriate technological solutions and develop national applications.
Such capabilities, he said, help ensure strategic independence, security and sustainable development through technology.
The ceremony concluded with awards being presented to the top-performing graduates.
The event was attended by senior Armed Forces commanders and officials from the Information Technology Institute.
