CAIRO – The Arab Lawyers Union (ALU) has greatly appreciated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s decision to end a years-long state of emergency observed in Egypt.
It is such a wise and courageous decision, said ALU Secretary General Mekkaoui Benaissa in a statement Tuesday, noting that it proves Egypt has succeeded in uprooting black terrorism.
Now stability has prevailed across Egypt thanks to efforts exerted by the Armed Forces and police, Benaissa said.
The state of emergency was enforced in the past years to guarantee security is fully restored and to maintain the pillars of stability, as Egypt strenuously acted to achieve further prosperity and progress, the ALU chief added.
It has sure helped Egypt regain its normal position as a regional power; now that a new republic has also been declared, Benaissa said.
