Egypt’s Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Samir said over 790 Turkish companies are investing in Egypt.
Turkish investments in Egypt stood at about dlrs 2.5 billion in addition to more investments injected in 2020 at dlrs 400 million in the medical, cosmetic, chemical, furniture, food and engineering domains.
This came during a roundtable held at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey under Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Samir said Egypt is looking forward to enhancing bilateral cooperation in various domains of mutual concern, highlighting the role played by the Turkish union in enhancing trade relations.
The volume of commodity trade exchange between Egypt and Turkey exceeded dlrs 7 billion for the first time during 2022 despite of economic challenges which the world is witnessing.
For his part, Hisarcıklıoğlu underlined keenness on cooperating with the Egyptian side.
