EgyptAir Airlines signed a co-operation protocol with Banque Misr yesterday, within the framework of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s strategy to enhance the digitization of services in various sectors. The move came in accordance with the Egyptian state’s trend towards digital transformation.

Chairman of EgyptAir Airlines Pilot Ehab el-Tahtawy, and Vice Chairman of Banque Misr Akef el-Maghraby signed the protocol.

As per the terms of the protocol, the two sides will co-operate in the field of electronic payments as well as the provision of many online services to customers, including electronic collection through points of sale (P.O.S) and official EgyptAir website.

According to the protocol, the link is made between Banque Misr and the electronic platform of the EgyptAir Airlines Company, and access to the site is made available from anywhere, whether inside Egypt or from abroad.

For his part, Minister of Civil Aviation Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas, voiced his appreciation for the signing of the protocol, which comes within the framework of close co-operation between EgyptAir and Banque Misr, which are linked by a long history since 1932.

Chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company Yehia Zakaria said that this partnership is aimed to provide a number of advantages and services to enrich the travel and marketing experience for existing and new EgyptAir customers.

This contributes to providing the highest level of luxury and comfort, in addition to the use of the latest technological means in electronic points of sale.

He said that the protocol gives customers a chance to install tickets at special prices through the EgyptAir website.

For his part, Board Chairman of Banque Misr, Mohamed el-Etribi, said that the co-operation protocol is an enhancement of Banque Misr’s successes in the field of electronic payments and digitisation through providing electronic solutions to facilitate procedures.
