CAIRO– French Ambassador to Egypt Marc Baréty said on Wednesday that France comes in second place in terms of countries exporting wheat to Egypt as it exported 1.2 million tons to Egypt in 2022.
In statements, he hailed Egyptian-French relations in all fields that was reflected by French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Egypt in 2022 in which he participated in the COP27 as he met with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah EL Sisi on the sideline of the conference.
The ambassador also lauded the COP27, describing it as successful.
Macron also visited Sharm el Sheikh on December 31, 2022, in which he inspected French troops on Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, the ambassador further said.
