CAIRO– Egypt strongly condemned on Tuesday Israeli occupation forces’ storming of Jenin refugee camp, leaving a number of Palestinians killed and wounded.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Egypt rejects such Israeli policies and the killings of innocent Palestinians in a blatant violation of international law.
Egypt urged all international parties, particularly the United States, the European Union and the United Nations Security Council, to act urgently for putting an end to such escalating acts and defuse tension between the two sides, according to the statement.
It stressed that peace can be only achieved through engaging into serious negotiations in accordance with the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions in order to reach a just and comprehensive peace in the region and set up an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem (Al Quds) as its capital.
