Egypt and Sudan launched on Sunday their joint military exercise ‘Guardians of the South-2’, in Egypt’s Border Guard Training Fields Complex.
Egypt’s border guards and elements from the Sudanese infantry take part in the exercise which runs for several days, the Egyptian army spokesman said.
The first part of the exercise includes an arms exhibition which also contains modern border control equipment and devices.
The same devices are used in combating cross-border crime.
The first part of the exercise also includes training in integration between forces, along with a series of lectures and practical training.
Guardians of the South-2 is part of a series of joint exercises between the Egyptian Armed Forces, on one hand, and armed forces from friendly states, on the other.
