The Egyptian cabinet ratified a decision on minting an additional amount of non-tradable souvenir currency by the Public Treasury Authority and the Egyptian Mint Authority.
The decision comes in accordance with the article no 1 of the premier’s decision no 65 of 2022.
This came during the cabinet meeting on Wednesday under Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.
Under the decision, additional 2,000 pieces of silver souvenir currency – marking the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) – will be issued, thus upping the total number of coins to 5,000.
