Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reviewed the state efforts to localise the production of building and construction supplies, in partnership with the private sector.
This came during the president’s meeting with Commander of the Strategic Command and Supervisor of Military Manufacturing, Lt Gen Ahmed Khaled, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Authority Maj Gen Ahmed al-Shazli, Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Maj Gen Amir Sayed Ahmed, and Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Maj Gen Staff Hesham el-Swaifi, together with a number of businessmen from the private sector, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
President Sisi gave orders for providing all elements of success for the ongoing efforts, mustering all state’s production potentials, by government, public enterprise sector, and the private sector in order to develop and localise the production of building and construction supplies, particularly equipment and machinery, Ambassador Radi added.
The presidential directives came amid the enormous construction works being carried out across the nation, which would open the door for possessing the production capabilities based on innovation and development by using local potentials.
It would also bridge the import gap and save foreign currency through meeting the needs of the development process from locally manufactured materials, Spokesman Radi said.
