Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir conferred with Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al Thani on means to boost economic co-operation relations between business organisations in Egypt and Qatar.

Secretary General of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) Alaa Ezz, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) Yehia El Qathiq Bellah attended the meeting.

Egypt and Qatar share common views as regards the importance of increasing the benefits of the industrial and commercial potentials between the two countries, Samir said.

He said that the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Qatar last week in addition to the visit of Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad al Thani to Cairo in June contributed to turning over a new leaf in the Egyptian-Qatari relations.

Samir pointed out to the importance of the role of the business communities to boost the frameworks of joint co-operation, establish more joint investment projects and create more job opportunities.

He necessitated exchanging points of view between the business organisations to put a comprehensive framework for the available investment opportunities to contribute to establishing investment partnerships in several production and service fields.

The commercial ties between Egypt and Qatar witnessed huge development in 2021, he said, adding that there are promising trade opportunities for the exporters and importers from both countries to meet the needs of the Egyptian and Qatari markets.

Meanwhile, the head of QCCI asserted the Qatari keenness on boosting the relations between both countries, adding that there are huge co-operation opportunities between Egypt and Qatar at the regional and international levels.
