Egyptian Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) Karam Gabr hailed on Monday deep-rooted ties between Egypt and Yemen throughout history.
Gabr made the remarks during his meeting with Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Muammar Al-Eryani and his accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to Egypt.
The official said Egypt is willing to promote its cooperation with Yemen in all fields, the SCMR said in a statement.
In this regard, the SCMR head cited President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to Egyptian state media to build bridges of cooperation with brotherly Arab countries, and work on bringing the Arab peoples closer together without interfering in the internal affairs of any country.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni official expressed his interest in boosting media cooperation between both sides, calling for Egypt’s support and assistance to help Yemen overcome its years-long crisis.
