Training programmes sponsored by Egyptian Ministry of Social solidarity have been launched in youth centres in ten governorates as part of the ‘Mawadda’ (Affection) programme, a project designed to preserve the institution of marriage.
Some 98 young people, including ten disabled persons, have been trained in the compilation of the first integrated interactive directory, programme director Randa Fares said on sunday.
The directory has been developed with the collaboration of the German Agency for International Co-operation, Fares added.
The ‘Mawadda’ Programme was launched by the Ministry of Social Solidarity in 2019 to preserve the entity of the Egyptian family by raising awareness among Egyptian youth about marriage.
Since the launch of the campaign, 47 training sessions in which 67 per cent of participants were women and 33 per cent were men.
Over 660 couples benefited from these sessions, said. Training focuses on the social, psychological and financial aspects of marriage, and gives information about family planning, reproductive health and gender-based violence.
