Egyptian and French naval forces have carried out a joint passing exercise in the Northern Fleet Area of Responsibility in the Mediterranean.
The Egyptian “Sagem Port Said” stealth class frigate and the French La Fayette-class frigate took part in the exercise that was carried out within the General Command of the Armed Forces’ plan to intensify joint exercises with friendly countries.
The training included air defence, tactical, and electronic warfare exercises.
The two sides also carried out a surface artillery firing exercise, as well as training on maritime security operations aimed at locating surface and air threats.
This PASSEX marks the debut of the Egyptian ghost-class frigate Sagem Port Said in a joint naval exercise, as the frigate is equipped with the latest command and control systems, armament, and technology and has recently joined the service.
