Member of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW) Talaat Abdel Qawi – who is also chairman of the General Federation Of NGOS – lauded a decision by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to allocate additional LE1 billion to the NACDW.
This reflects the president’s belief in the key role played by non-governmental organisations (NGOs), he said in statements to MENA.
He added that the measure falls within the framework of the president’s declaration of 2022 as the year of civil society
He noted that the president’s meeting with the NACDW came at an important timing as he stood on the activities that have been carried out by the alliance since its launch in March 2022.
During the last holy fasting month of Ramadan, the president decided to earmark LE9 billion for the NACDW to support needy families.
The president directed to develop charity and development efforts of the alliance to expand its activities as regards creating jobs and increasing production, thus having a positive economic impact.
The Alliance consists of 24 associations and civil institutions in addition to the Decent Life Foundation and the General Federation of NGOs.
