CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Education and Technical Education Tarek Shawqi discussed with Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang a number of joint projects between the two countries on developing education.
The Education Ministry detailed in a statement on Monday that the videoconferencing meeting touched upon the promotion of educational co-operation in different domains, including teaching Chinese as an optional second language at Egyptian preparatory schools starting from the next year.
Shawqi praised strong and special deeply-rooted ties and fruitful cooperation between Egypt and China in different fields.
The ambassador lauded successful co-operation with the ministry, praising reform programs aiming to develop education in Egypt.
He added that China is fully ready to provide all needed support for the Education Ministry to achieve the desired goals of development.
