COPENHAGEN – Egypt’s Environment Minister Yassmin Fouad has discussed with her UAE counterpart Mariam Almheiri means to strengthen bilateral co-operation in the environment and climate domains.
They held a meeting on Friday on the sidelines of their participation in the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.
The meeting reviewed Egypt’s preparations for the COP27 conference.
Fouad pointed out that Egypt has developed a national strategy on climate change 2050 that would be launched next week, noting that the strategy would contribute to creating promising opportunities for cooperation between Cairo and Abu Dhabi.
Almheiri stressed that the UAE is keen to work with Egypt and make use of its expertise in hosting the COP27, and to enhance agricultural cooperation with Cairo.
