A number of military experts said the Egyptian Armed Forces have achieved great victory against terrorism and succeeded in uprooting it and returning life to normal in Sinai.

In statements to MENA on Friday on the 40th anniversary of Sinai Liberation, the experts added that such victory has paved the way for launching national projects in Sinai to achieve the aspired sustainable development.

Strategic and military analyst and former MP Hamdy Bekhit said that terrorism was exported to Egypt as one of the key pillars for the Muslim brotherhood’s State here and one of the threats that faced the country after June 30 revolution.

Egypt, compared to other countries, succeeded in eliminating terrorism thanks to its strong and national army, he added.

He pointed out to the national projects that were launched in Sinai including the strategic linkage projects in addition to the development of its roads and axes among others.

Meanwhile, advisor to the director of Nasser Higher Military Academy Hesham Al-Halaby said Egypt has engaged in many wars in Sinai including a war against terrorism, in which the Armed Forces achieved victory in cooperation with the Egyptian Police and Sinai residents, ensuring full control over the borders.

He highlighted ongoing projects in it to upgrade airports, roads and sea ports.

Former director of the National Defense College Muhammad al-Ghubari said the phase of implementing national projects has been launched in Sinai immediately after eradicating terrorism.

He noted that the current development in Sinai is equivalent to efforts of 40 years.

Meanwhile, Mostafa Kamel Mohamed el Sayed, an adviser at Nasser Higher Military Academy and one of October War heroes said there is no takfiri elements or terrorist organizations in Egypt after the Armed Forces fully controlled the land of Sinai.

Such control has helped achieve security, political, and economic stability in Egypt, thanks to which the country managed to address international challenges, the last of which was the wheat supply problem, he said.
