The Egyptian and Spanish paratroopers have held a joint military exercise, codenamed 5-EGY-ESP-A, in Egypt as part of the Armed Forces’ efforts to exchange expertise with friendly countries and enhance the combat readiness of their personnel.
The exercise, which lasted several days, included a series of theoretical and practical lectures on freefall parachuting and methods of carrying out various missions, as well as training on the wind tunnel and freefall parachute jumps.

The participant paratroopers also conducted freefall jumps carrying the flags of both countries over the Giza Pyramids archaeological site, demonstrating the high level of professionalism and co-ordination among the participating forces.
The activities were attended by Commander of the Egyptian Paratroopers Forces, Major General Mohamed Saad Abdel Razek, the Spanish ambassador to Egypt and Spain’s military attaché in Cairo.

The exercise is part of a series of joint training activities conducted by the Egyptian Armed Forces with friendly countries to strengthen military co-operation, enhance combat training capabilities and underscore the longstanding military ties between Egypt and Spain.
