The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates on Monday set out the definition of the “two-state solution” as part of its public awareness campaign, “Wa’i – Your Guide to Understanding Data”, also known as “Your Guide to Understanding Statements”.
On its eighth day, the campaign defined the two-state solution as a political settlement aimed at ending the occupation and establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem (Al Quds city) as its capital.
The solution guarantees the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination in accordance with relevant resolutions of international legitimacy, and seeks to achieve a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the region, the campaign said.
The ministry launched the campaign last week. It features a series of informative posts offering simplified explanations of diplomatic terms and concepts used in official statements. These are presented in an accessible and straightforward manner, with the aim of enhancing public awareness of foreign affairs and promoting a better understanding of Egypt’s positions.
