Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gomblat has reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to modernising military production companies, increasing output and improving product quality in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Gomblat stressed the need to make better use of existing manufacturing capabilities, develop human resources and adopt modern technologies to strengthen local industry.
The minister made the remarks during an inspection visit to Shubra Engineering Industries Company (Military Factory 27) on Wednesday.
The visit was part of a series of field tours aimed at monitoring production, assessing operational performance and ensuring compliance with established plans.
During the tour, Gomblat inspected the production line for 7.62×39 mm ammunition. He reviewed production operations and workers’ compliance with industrial safety standards.
He also visited the hardness-testing department, which uses specialised equipment to measure the hardness of cartridge cases.
The minister reviewed the company’s quality control procedures to ensure that products meet approved specifications and standards.
He stressed that strict quality control at every stage of production was essential to improving industrial performance and strengthening confidence in locally manufactured products.
The tour also covered production lines for ammunition components, alloys and pressing operations, including drawing and pressing machines used to manufacture small-calibre ammunition.
Gomblat called for the optimal use of the company’s technical resources and manufacturing capabilities to increase productivity and improve efficiency.
He also reviewed administrative performance, stressing the need for closer coordination between technical and administrative departments.
The minister said the coming period required greater efforts to improve operational efficiency, strengthen technical and administrative performance and maintain the highest standards of quality and industrial safety.
