Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy met on Wednesday with Head of Future of Egypt Authority for Sustainable Development (Mostakbal Misr) Bahaa El-Ghannam to discuss co-operation on social responsibility and support for vulnerable groups.
The meeting discussed ways to co-ordinate efforts in several priority areas, including irregular employment, the economic empowerment of vulnerable families, and improving services for the elderly.
Both sides discussed partnerships on initiatives and programmes designed to deliver tangible social and economic benefits, improve quality of life and strengthen social protection, while helping beneficiaries move from receiving support to economic empowerment and productive activities.
They also explored ways to improve co-ordination on irregular employment, expand access to protection and care services, and help workers benefit from support and empowerment programmes.
The talks also reviewed economic empowerment initiatives for vulnerable families, including opportunities to develop their economic capacities, engage in productive activities and achieve greater self-reliance and sustainable improvements in living standards.
Morsy and El-Ghannam stressed the importance of strengthening partnership between the ministry and the authority to expand the reach of social protection and economic empowerment programmes.
