The occupation forces carried out explosions and artillery shelling and sent military vehicles into the outskirts of a south Lebanon town on Friday, Lebanon’s state National News Agency (NNA) reported, in violation of a ceasefire.
The agency said the occupation forces set off two large explosions at dawn, one near a school in Kfar Tibnit and another in Zawtar al-Sharqiya, towards Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
Shelling hit the Jarmaq area and the outskirts of Kfar Chouba, as a D9 bulldozer, two tanks and several other military vehicles advanced towards the town’s southern edge, it said.
In the Tyre district, Israeli artillery shelled the valleys of Sarbine and Zibqin overnight into the early morning, and troops fired heavily towards valleys and wooded areas around Sarbine, the NNA said. Jarmaq, in the Jezzine district, was also shelled overnight.
Israel escalated its military campaign in Lebanon on March 2. Lebanese authorities say it has killed and wounded thousands of people and displaced around 1.5 million.
