Egypt condemned in the strongest terms Iranian missile and drone attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, describing the strikes as violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the three Arab countries and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability and puts the safety of the peoples at risk.
In a statement released by the foreign ministry on Wednesday, Egypt expressed full solidarity with the three Arab countries and reaffirmed its categorical rejection of any attacks that undermine their security, sovereignty or territorial integrity.
Egypt stressed that it had repeatedly warned of the consequences of renewed military operations and their serious repercussions for the security and safety of Arab countries, as well as international freedom of navigation.
It warned that continuing down the path of escalation would only lead to further cycles of confrontation and instability, posing threat to both regional and international security.
Egypt renewed its call for an immediate halt to the military escalation and urged all parties to exercise the utmost restraint, adhere to the principles of international law and the rules of good-neighbourly relations, respect the sovereignty of states, and give priority to dialogue and diplomatic solutions.
