Minister of State for Military Production Major General Salah Suleiman Gomblat reviewed on Sunday work progress in the projects being implemented under the presidential “Hayah Karima” (Decent Life)
The minister held an expanded meeting on Sunday with officials from ministry and National the Authority for Military Production, as part of efforts to accelerate implementation of the initiative, improve public services and raise living standards.
Attendees included Alaa El-Zanaty and Ahmed Ramadan, representatives of Dar Al-Handasah, the initiative’s consultant, and Ahmed Ismail, Vice-Chairman of the National Organisation for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage for Projects.
Participants reviewed the implementation status and progress of projects under the initiative and discussed ways to speed up work, improve performance and meet established targets, while ensuring the efficient use of state investments and resources.
The Decent Life initiative was a key pillar of comprehensive and sustainable development, particularly in rural areas, through infrastructure development and improved access to essential services, Minister Gomblat said.
He also called for more co-operation among all relevant bodies, warning that” no leniency would be shown towards entities that failed to implement projects seriously”.
Immediate action would be taken to remove obstacles, address delays and resolve any issues hindering implementation, with the aim of completing projects and bringing them into service as soon as possible, the minister noted.
He also directed ministry engineers to increase their presence at project sites, conduct regular follow-ups and ensure compliance with approved technical specifications and standards. He called for accurate, up-to-date reports reflecting actual progress on each project to support timely decisions on emerging challenges.
For their part, representatives of Dar Al-Handasah praised the ministry’s ongoing and transparent monitoring of projects and its efforts to accelerate completion, maintain high quality standards, remove obstacles and strengthen co-operation among the relevant authorities and contractors.
The initiative’s real value lay in delivering tangible, lasting improvements to citizens’ lives through infrastructure development and essential services that meet their needs and enhance their quality of life, they added.
