On behalf of President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Eissa addressed the SCO Plus Summit in Bishkek, marking the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

In his speech, Eissa conveyed greetings to Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the invitation. He highlighted the unprecedented global uncertainty and cross‑border challenges ranging from terrorism to climate change, stressing that no country can face them alone.

He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to multilateralism as the “safety valve” for international peace and security, underscoring the need for genuine co-operation, equitable partnerships and adherence to international law. Eissa also reviewed Egypt’s role in mediation, peacekeeping, counter‑terrorism and development, while emphasising that sustainable peace requires tackling root causes such as occupation, poverty and climate impacts.

The Deputy Prime Minister called for reform of global governance structures, including the UN Security Council, to ensure fair representation for developing countries, particularly Africa, in line with the Ezulwini Consensus and Sirte Declaration. He also urged reforms to international financial institutions and the global debt system to better serve developing nations.

He concluded by affirming Egypt’s full commitment to enhancing cooperation within the SCO framework, building bridges of partnership, and turning dialogue into tangible initiatives that benefit peoples worldwide.
