Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny conducted an inspection tour of El Alamein International Airport on Sunday to review final preparations ahead of the second edition of the El Alamein International Aerospace Exhibition (EIAS 2026), scheduled to take place in New Alamein City next September.
Accompanied by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Airports Company Pilot Wael El-Nashar and a number of officials and representatives of relevant authorities, the minister reviewed the airport’s operational readiness and arrangements for receiving official delegations and participants in the major international event.
During the tour, Minister el-Hefny inspected the departure and arrival halls, baggage handling system, departure gates, screening and inspection equipment, as well as the airport’s facilities, services and technical equipment.
He also reviewed designated routes and arrangements for the arrival and departure of official delegations and exhibition participants to ensure smooth passenger movement and efficient travel procedures.
The minister reviewed the progress of ongoing works at the airport and directed that they be completed swiftly in accordance with the established timelines.
He also stressed the need for continued coordination among all relevant parties and maintaining the highest levels of operational efficiency and readiness throughout the exhibition.
During the tour, Minister el-Hefny said that his ministry attaches particular importance to hosting EIAS 2026, describing it as a major international event that brings together leading companies and institutions specialising in aviation and aerospace.
The exhibition provides an important platform for exchanging expertise, exploring the latest technologies and innovations, and creating new opportunities for co-operation, partnerships and investment.
It also supports the participation of Egyptian companies in international forums and strengthens their engagement with global entities operating in these sectors.
The minister stressed the importance of full coordination among all concerned authorities and adherence to the highest operational and service-quality standards to ensure a distinguished representation of Egypt’s civil aviation sector.
