Egyptian Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority (AFEA) Major General Ihab El Far described on Wednesday traffic axes and roads as “the artery of development and engine of progress” in Egypt.
In statements during the inauguration of a number of several development projects by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Sheikh Zayed and the 6th of October City, El Far said well-studied plans had been drawn up within the framework of the directives of the political leadership since 2014 to establish more roads and axes to ease the congestion in Greater Cairo which receives high numbers of commuters from various governorates every day.
According to El Far, plans had been prepared to develop Giza traffic axes and roads to connect the governorate with various governorates through the national road network project.
He added that the towns of Atfih and El-Saf in Giza governorate joined the presidential initiative “Haya Karima” (Decent Life) which aims at developing rural areas across the country.
