The Times Higher Education 2026 World University Rankings include 36 Egyptian universities.
This reflects “continued improvement in the performance of Egypt’s higher education institutions and the boosting their international standing as part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research,” read a statement on the Cabinet Facebook page on Thursday.
The rankings also placed nine Egyptian universities among the world’s top 1,000 institutions.
The American University in Cairo, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-Just), and Kafr El Sheikh University were ranked in the 601–800 band globally.
T Ain Shams University, Al-Azhar University, Alexandria University, Cairo University, Future University in Egypt, and Al-Mansoura University, were placed in the 801–1000 category worldwide.
