Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has reaffirmed the importance of advancing development efforts in Galala City in line with the highest international standards and within specified timelines.

The step, he added, is part of the state’s broader vision to establish an integrated global economic system in the region.

Sisi’s remarks came during a meeting he called on Sunday with Minister of Defence and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs Lieutenant General Ahmed el-Shazly, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Management and Investment Major General Mahmoud Rizk, and Chief Executive Officer of Tatweer Misr Ahmed Shalaby.

During the meeting, the president underscored that the city’s strategic location on the Red Sea coast positions it as Egypt’s new waterfront, with significant potential to boost investment, tourism, and employment opportunities, thereby supporting comprehensive development.

According to the Presidency Spokesman, Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy, the meeting reviewed the comprehensive development plan for Galala City over the next four years, within the framework of preparing the city for full operation.

Updates were also presented on the progress of ongoing projects.

The discussions further addressed the comprehensive development plan for the second phase of the Monte Galala project, Shennawy said, adding that the president approved the overall concept and endorsed its implementation in partnership with the private sector.

He also directed the realignment of the Ain Sokhna–Zaafarana road to enhance road safety and reduce accidents.

In addition, the president instructed the development of tourist residential towers directly along the Red Sea coastline, alongside the establishment of a service marina, hotels, and integrated economic, medical, and educational facilities.

Plans also include the construction of floating docks aimed at attracting international companies and supporting the transformation of the area into a global trade hub.

President Sisi further emphasised the necessity of establishing a fully integrated residential zone for workers in the city, comprising housing, schools, and essential services to support sustainable urban development.
