Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese led the Good Friday prayers at St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, in the Abbassia district of Cairo.
The religious event was attended by bishops, priests, monks and members of the congregation.
Pope Tawadros II is also set to lead the Easter prayers on Saturday evening at the same cathedral, in the presence of senior state officials, governors, diplomats, members of the House of Representatives and Senate, journalists, media figures and public personalities.
The prayers will be broadcast on Egyptian television channels, Coptic satellite channels and the official page of the spokesman for the Coptic Orthodox Church.
