Iran has ‘will’ to end war, but seeks guarantees, president says

Iran has the “necessary will” to end the war with the United States and Israel, President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tuesday, stressing that Tehran was seeking guarantees the conflict would not flare up again.

Egypt and the European Union held their first Security and Defence Dialogue in Cairo on Tuesday. The dialogue was agreed at the EU‑Egypt Leaders’ Summit in October 2025 and reflects the strategic comprehensive partnership launched in March 2024.  

Egypt to suspend closure rules during Coptic Easter week

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting of the Central Crisis Management Committee to follow up on the latest repercussions of the US‑Israeli‑Iranian war. The committee recommended suspending closure decisions for shops, malls, restaurants, cafés, clubs, and sports facilities during the Coptic Easter week, with the proposal to be presented to the Cabinet tomorrow.

Egypt expands renewable energy projects to strengthen national grid

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review plans for adding new and renewable energy projects to Egypt’s national electricity grid. The session was attended by Electricity Minister Mahmoud Asmat, Planning Minister Ahmed Rostom, and senior officials from the Finance Ministry.  

Spurs appoint De Zerbi as manager

LONDON — Tottenham Hotspur has appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their manager on a long-term contract, the English Premier League club said on Tuesday, and the Italian coach has seven games to steer the North London side to safety.
