As per directives form President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Coـoperation, and Egyptians Abroad Dr Badr AbdelـAati has intensified diplomatic engagement with a number of regional and international counterparts to address the serious implications of the current escalation and to prevent further deterioration of the situation.

Within this framework, the minister held a series of telephone consultations on Sunday with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Hakan Fidan, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Abbas Araghchi, and United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

These discussions form part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to closely monitor rapidly evolving regional developments and to support de-escalation initiatives aimed at bringing an end to the current conflict.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khallaf stated that the discussions focused on the escalating military tensions and their serious repercussions for regional peace and stability.

The consultations highlighted the urgent need to contain the crisis, limit its wider impact, and prevent further expansion of hostilities, particularly in light of mutual threats and the targeting of civilian infrastructure.

Minister Abdel-Aati emphasised the critical importance of exercising restraint and adopting a measured, responsible approach at this sensitive juncture.

He further underlined the necessity of safeguarding maritime navigation and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of international trade, given the significant economic implications for global supply chains, as well as oil and food markets.

The minister also reaffirmed Egypt’s firm support for the security and stability of the Gulf region, reiterating the country’s categorical rejection of any form of aggression against Gulf states. He stressed that Gulf security remains an integral component of Egypt’s national and regional security.

The parties agreed to maintain close coordination and continue consultations throughout this critical period.
