President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reiterated on Sunday Egypt’s firm and consistent position in condemning any aggression against Arab states, while emphasising the imperative of safeguarding their sovereignty and preserving their stability.
He also underscored the importance of intensifying joint Arab efforts to reinforce regional security and stability.
The president expressed this stance as he received a telephone call from King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, during which the two leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
During the talks, the king conveyed his sincere wishes for continued prosperity and blessings to the peoples of Egypt and Jordan, as well as to the Arab and Islamic nations.
President Sisi, in turn, expressed his appreciation for the gesture, reciprocating the congratulations and extending his best wishes to the Kingdom of Jordan and its brotherly people.
The call also addressed regional developments of mutual concern, with both leaders affirming the importance of de-escalating current tensions and advancing coordinated Arab action to address evolving challenges.
In this regard, the president reviewed the outcomes of his recent Gulf tour, highlighting Egypt’s ongoing efforts to strengthen consultation and alignment with regional partners.
The two leaders further emphasised the strength of the longstanding and distinguished relations between Egypt and Jordan, stressing the importance of sustaining and expanding bilateral co-operation across various fields, in a manner that serves the shared interests of both nations and contributes to broader regional stability.
