RIYADH (News Wires) – Secretary-General of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, praised Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and the United Kingdom for their supportive stance toward Gulf states amid what he described as Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting the region since February 28.
Al Budaiwi said that joint ministerial meetings with the four countries produced positive outcomes in strengthening cooperation and reaffirmed support for GCC measures to safeguard sovereignty and security.
He warned that the attacks pose a threat not only to Gulf security but also to international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and global energy supplies.
Al Budaiwi also welcomed UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemned the attacks and called on Iran to halt them immediately.
He stressed that the Palestinian issue remains a shared priority and highlighted ongoing efforts by GCC states and Egypt to end the war in Gaza.
